![]() Theron is preceded in death by his parents his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Risa siblings Martin Jr. He was cared for at Valley View during his final months. They were at Nemont Manor from 2007-2014 and then moved to Prairie Ridge. He farmed and ranched in Opheim until he and Dorothy moved to Glasgow. He was active in Senior Citizens, Community Club and a 50-year member of the American Legion. He served in several roles in the Lutheran Church in Opheim and many community boards such as FMDH Hospital Board, REA-Northern Electric, and Election Board. In December 1963 he married Dorothy “Dot” Risa and together raised her sons on the farm. When he returned home, as common in the day, he worked for local farmers, primarily his brothers and Uncle Resner Blikken. Theron graduated from Opheim High School in 1943 and served in the United States Army from 1944 – 1946. He passed away on June 17, 2023, in Glasgow, Montana. Theron “Gub” Arnold Risa was born on November 1, 1924, in Opheim, Montana to Martin Sr. Services will be announced later, with a private family casting ceremony at the family farm. Johnson V his great-grandchildren: Aiden and Bentley Norheim, Graycen Johnson, and Laken Stanton and many nieces and nephews. In his later years he worked alongside his son-in-law, Ralph Kress for Kress Welding & Fabrication, Inc., retiring after 10 years.ĭavid was preceded in death by his granddaughter Samantha Mae Stratton, his father, Norman Shanks, his step-mother Sherry (Chaney) Shanks, his mother Betty Hustad, his brother Donald Hustad, his brother Danny Lynn and his step-father Leonard Hustad.ĭavid is survived by his children, Nikita Kress (Ralph) of Vandalia, Montana Kari Hustad (Donald Page) of Rawlins, Wyoming his siblings: Lyanna Gable (Bill), Dean Shanks (Denise), Robert Shanks (Karen), Dana Martin (Terry), and Lisa Albrecht (Jeff) in addition, David is survived by his grandchildren: Vincen Norhiem (Karissa), Trenten Stahl, Jessie Johnson (Mia), Janna Johnson, John B. He spent time as his daughters’ babysitter and had fun teaching the grandkids how to build towers out of VHS tapes and playing video games. He spent a period of time working on people’s vehicles at his home, first in Glasgow and then in Nashua after relocating there in 1992. He was a self-taught diesel mechanic with a love for Volkswagons. In time he also picked up movie reels from the movie theaters in addition to picking up film rolls along his route to take for processing. He later started a business, picking up grain samples from Elevators along a route stretching the Hi-Line from Great Falls to Plentywood and delivering them for testing. Two children were born to this union, Nikita “Nicky” and Kari, before divorcing at a later time. ![]() He married Lottie Jane Hensley in 1973 in Harlem, Montana. Afterwards, he worked for his father’s, Norman Shanks, business as a painter. David was born September 6, 1952, in Williston, North Dakota to Norman Lewis Shanks and Betty Lou (Eschenbacher) Hustad.ĭavid attended school in Bainville, Montana graduating in 1971. ![]() David (Shanks) Hustad, 70 years old, of Nashua, Montana, passed away June 18, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. ![]()
